Obituary of Deborah Kay Ward-Franks
Age 63, of Burton, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at Hurley Medical Center. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Greg Rowan to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Deborah’s family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Deborah was born in Flint on March 16, 1958, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Iva (Smith) Figgins. Educated locally, Deborah graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School with the Class of 1976. Deborah met and married the love of her life, Mitchell Franks, on July 23, 2005. Deborah loved to go camping in her RV that they drove to their property in Hale. She enjoyed sitting outside and watching the ducks and the birds out on the water. Deborah enjoyed going out to eat. She especially liked Chinese food. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Deborah was a godly woman and loved the Lord. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Cozumel and Florida. Florida was her favorite place to be since she had a love of Palm trees and Flamingos. She enjoyed going to the zoo and watching the flamingos dance for hours. Deborah was very talented and played the guitar, flute, and piano. In her free time, she enjoyed reading magazines and shopping for purses and shoes. Deborah loved her family with all of her heart and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was very excited about being a grandma. Her family was her life. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Deborah's memory is her loving husband, Mitchell Franks; son, Zack and wife, Ashley Ward; grandchildren: Grayson, and Harper; siblings: Douglas and wife, Linda Figgins, Kristine and husband, Thomas Miller, Stephen and wife, Jenny Figgins; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents.
