One of my favorite memories of Grama Jo was the time she stayed with us at my Dad's house one weekend. I can't remember why she was there that weekend, but I know my Dad wasn't there for a good portion of it, maybe work or some such. I had recently gotten into the Friday the 13th movie franchise and had rented several films-four of them to be exact. She sat and watched all of them with me, criticizing character actions, covering her eyes occasionally, and calling shenanigans on the gruesome demises of most. She never complained (except when characters were being "idiots"). We ate breakfast-for-dinner and steaks......and when she had to do something during the films, she would politely ask that I pause the movie. It was fun, and she was a good cinema companion, providing hilarious commentary and totally priceless reactions. I think she said the words "Oh bullshit!" more than ten times. There was never a missed opportunity for Grama Jo to tell me which side of the family my toes came from. Once I even had to stop her from trying to ride my BMX bike! She made me eat all of my green beans, every time. She tried endlessly to convince me I need to be in the Army....and every time we turned left into the Highlands Park I knew I was going to be doted on. I already miss you.

Hey Mama, I'm so sad that you had to go. I know the pain was more than your frail little body could handle anymore but like a fighter you've always been you hung in there as long as you could. You will be forever missed and loved and we will keep your memory alive throughout our family because you were a remarkable strong women with a big heart. Your strength and determination is in all of us and so is your heart. I will miss our talks but know I can still talk to you but you can't change the subject lol..
