Age 66, of Clio, died Thursday, May 14, 2021, at home. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Mayfair Bible Church at 5339 W Pierson Rd, Flushing, MI 48433. Pastor Michael Breznau to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Karl was born in Flint, on June 10, 1954, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Sally (Motter) Gunther. Educated locally, Karl graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School with the Class of 1972, where he excelled in track, especially the 440 race. Upon graduation, Karl would pursue a career with General Motors, as a lineman, working for thirty-two years until his retirement in 2003. A good Christian man, Karl was a member of the Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing and spent time as a chaplain at the Genesee County Jail. A jokester who loved to laugh, Karl loved his family fiercely, providing a good life for them. Many will remember Karl for his ready smile and beautiful blue eyes.
Karl leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Sally, children: Jennifer Gunther, Jessica Gunther, and Kyle Gunther, grandson: Kaleb Gunther, siblings: Keith Gunther, Kenneth and wife, Sally Corbin-Gunther, Kirk and wife, Ruby Gunther; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Gunther.
