Obituary of Robert Charles Cunningham

Age 65, of Swartz Creek, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020, at home with his family by his side. A graveside service will take place at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris, Elder Garfield Cooper officiating. Robert’s family will be present at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris to receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Robert was born on June 5, 1955, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Donna (Miller) Cunningham. Robert met and married the love of his life, Wendy Kimmery, on October 27, 1984, in Mt. Morris; their marriage would bring them two beautiful children. For 22 years, Robert worked on the Production Line for Delphi in Saginaw until his retirement in 2000. Robert was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In his free time, Robert enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, the Detroit Pistons, and John Wayne movies and collecting John Wayne memorabilia. He also enjoyed reading and collecting Louis L’Amour novels, hunting, fishing. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his beloved children and family.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his wife of 35 years, Wendy; children: Joshua R. (Genny) Cunningham and Renae L. (Jefferey) Short; three siblings: Martin (Terry) Cunningham, Lynn (Jeff) Mattingly, Gerald (Missy) Cunningham; mother and father-in-law, Carol and Ray Kimmery; special friends: Bob Sprague, and Ronald Rondeau; and many beloved nieces, and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Cunningham, and his parents, Richard and Donna Cunningham.
