Obituary of Gerald Thomas Tvorik
Age 71, of Davison, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. A Life Celebration will take place on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 2:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Grand Blanc. Burial will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery with Military Honors. Jerry’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to FISH Inc of Grand Blanc, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Jerry was born December 16, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Veronica (Stanevich) Tvorik. He and Susan Wilson were united in marriage on February 28, 1970, in Edmore, Michigan.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He would work for A.C Spark Plug and Delphi for 38 years, retiring in 2004. Jerry would begin his second career with the Grand Blanc Community Schools working as a bus driver from 2006 until his death. Mr. Jerry drove Bus # 44, and proudly transported students to Grand Blanc High School, Grand Blanc West Middle School, and Reid Elementary. He dearly loved his students and has touched many lives. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, playing practical jokes on his family & friends, watching the History Channel, cooking, and dressing up as Santa during the Christmas Holiday.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years, Susan; two children, Laurie and husband, Samuel White, ; Andrew and wife, Amy Tvorik; five grandchildren, Corey White, Breann VanKuren, Cody Robbins, Tyler Tvorik, and Jack Wheatley; four great-grandchildren; brother’s, Ralph and wife Mary Tvorik; Robert and wife, Eileen Tvorik and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Frank.
