Obituary of Martin "Marty" William Brown

Age 75, of Grand Blanc, died at home Monday, November 26, 2018. In accordance with Marty’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Grandview Lodge, 6300 Del Web Blvd., Grand Blanc, Michigan, 48439. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to  The First Tee of Eastern Michigan. 

Marty was born on February 8, 1943, in Erie, Pensylvania. He graduated from West Virginia University with a Masters in Social Work and spent his life working with non-profits, owning a Midas Muffler shop, and in subsequent sales positions.

After retiring, Marty was able to take his greatest joy of golfing to the coaching world. He began as a volunteer at Lake Orion, and most recently, as an Assistant Coach with the Rochester Adams Highlanders. He was also an active volunteer with Oakland County Parks and Recreation.  Many precious memories were made with his wife, children, and grandchildren. They enjoyed their time together at their cottage over the past 15 years.  His gift of laughter and storytelling were just a few of his loving traits.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Kay of 49 years; son Brian (Karen) and granddaughter Alexie; daughter Nancy (Josh) and grandsons Mason and Adam.  In addition, Marty is survived by extended family and a host of loving friends.
