Our deepest sympathy to Tony's family and many friends. My husband and I both worked with Tony and Renee at the foundry. He was professional, brilliant and just a good and down to earth person. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched during his time with us all.

My apologies for the lateness of my condolences. I had no information until my sister Margie e-mailed me. I knew Sonny when I lived in Wilcox. Sonny, my brother Johnny and I had great times at the family roller rink. The last time I saw Sonny was at a family reunion at my parent's summer home in Ludlow. I'm sure he will be sadly missed by all. I will certainly keep him in my prayers.

I will remember Tony as the bright gentleman with a ready smile and a caring heart. His personality made him such a pleasure to work with over the years at Grede. He was a man that you could always count on for advice or a ready ear. His common sense and down to earth ways made him a ready companion for any activity. He will be missed but not forgotten.

We are so very, very sorry for your loss. Please know that you and TonyAaas family are in Ceil and my thoughts and prayers.\
\
Memories of you and Tony have dominated my thoughts since I have learned about TonyAaas passing. I have such very fond memories of you and Tony.\
\
Mary, do you remember that you and Tony took Ceil and I to the Treasure Island restaurant in Saginaw during our first job hunting trip to the area many years ago? You were both so very kind and helpful and we still remember how very enjoyable our first evening was with the two of you. I remember that Tony was such a great salesman as well as a AaA"class actAaA. What I remember most about my first meeting with Tony was that he was so very gracious, intelligent and fun to be with.\
\
So many wonderful memories of Tony have been coming to me over the past 24 hours. Some are serious and some are funny and many were both. \
\
I remember that one time Tony came into my office and saidAaABill we have a problem with the water tower. AaA" I asked what the problem was and how did he know about it. He said the birds were not behaving normally. (The birds were either sitting on or not sitting on the tower because of a temperature change on the towerAaacan not remember which way) and that meant there was a problem with the pump. It is AaA"just a matter of physicsAaA Tony said, and of course he was right. \
\
Another time was at a Foundrymen's Christmas party and someone brought in some helium balloons to our table. \
\
Tony looked at me and with his wonderful grin said that the balloons are going to slowly rise to the ceiling and then sink about 6 inches from the ceiling. Sure enough the balloons rose slowly and than settled about six inches from the ceiling. Tony said grinning AaA"it is just a matter of physics AaA"and went on to explain in detail the scientific principles behind what had just occurred. I can not for the life of me remember the cause but just that this was a pattern with Tony and I learned to follow his advice on about everything except blackjack.\
\
Tony convinced me to use reclaimed sand and the plant saved a fortune over the years. Most people were against the idea as too risky. I listen to Tony and was very glad I did. Tony knew just about everything technical when it came to the plant. Just a matter of physics he would tell me. \
\
Environmental problems and issues were manageable and all almost easy with TonyAaas help. Tony was just wonderful Aaa I liked him as a friend, admired him as an engineer and came to value our association very much. Mary, I could go on and on- so many wonderful memories. \
\
As you know Tony and I spoke on the phone while you were in Florida last year and we made plans to visit you and Tony next winter. Ceil and I were really looking forward to seeing you guys again. There are tears in my eyes as I am writing this knowing that we will not be seeing Tony next winter as planned and as I am thinking of all the fantastic times I spent with Tony over the years. My loss is absolutely nothing compared to the loss of you and your family but I thought that you might want to know what those of us who worked with Tony felt about him and how we will miss his intelligence, wonderful grin, great sense of humor and his very pleasant ways. \
\
God bless you. Ceil and I are praying for you.\

Renee:\
So sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. Time passes too quickly and best laid goals sometimes fall through the cracks. When you and I met at SMI plant a few years ago, I made myself the goal of renewing my contact with Tony. That had not yet happened and there's no valid excuse. Now it's too late, and I'll always regret that. He was a good man and a gentleman, and he'll be missed. My deepest condolences go to you and family for his loss - he left us 'way too early..... WMS

I am so sorry about the loss of your father. I have so many fond memories from our trips to Pennsylvania and Niagara Falls. (Your mom eating the map!) Thanks for taking me Fran! He laughed a lot during Johnny Carson. I know he loved and cared a lot for all of you. I recognized that at a very young age. I hope all of your happy memories of him keep you smiling and helps heal your hearts. Love, Pauline
