Obituary of Robert Arthur "Bob Steel" Leets
Robert Leets, best known as “Bob Steel” died 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2018, at his home in Genesee Township. He was 76 years old. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 3:00 pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services of Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends beginning on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, and again on Monday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or The Back to the Bricks Scholarship Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Robert was born May 14, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana. He is the son of the late Mr. Robert C. Leets and Ms. Rosella Koszewski. On November 25, 1976, Robert married Judy Leets (Sumner). Together they shared forty-one years of marriage.
Under the stage name of “Bob Steel,” Leets became a well-known radio and car show DJ. He was a long time member of the Buick Club of America. He was actively involved in the Back to the Bricks event serving for fourteen years. He was also involved as the official DJ for the Sloan Museum for 25 years, and the Christian Cruisers for ten years. Bob was more than just a DJ for the car shows. He was an automotive and music trivia enthusiast. He and his wife Judy owned a 1956 Buick Roadmaster; 1962 Buick Special and; 1989 and 1991 Buick Reatta,

He was preceded in death by his parents.
