Obituary of John Thomas Daniels

Of Mt. Morris, age 43, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at his home. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Richard Parks will celebrate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. JohnAaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 11:00am to 3:00pm and again from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. On Friday evening, family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00pm. On Saturday morning, John will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the College fund for John's children. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. John was born December 17, 1965 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Maxine (Parks) Daniels. He was a graduate of Luke M. Powers Catholic High School, where he was All State in football, basketball and baseball, and he attended Eastern Michigan University. He was the Powers High School freshman basketball coach and had coached at Kearsley, Bentley and Carmen Ainsworth in the past. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. John leaves to cherish his memory two children: Emma and Logan Daniels, their mother Julia Daniels, his parents, Jack and Maxine Daniels, sister, Theresa and husband Scott Shepard, brother-in-law, David Wolbert, brother, Richard and wife Julie Daniels, sister, Susan Adams, nieces and nephews; Mallory, Paige, and McKenzie Shepard, Jack, Stephen, and Renee Wolbert, Kyle and Kelsey Daniels, Spencer and John Adams, and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Wolbert, brother-in-law, Dan Adams, grandparents, Merton and Renetta Parks and Orville and Leona Kennedy.
