Obituary of Dennis Wayne Hoover

Age 63, of Mt. Morris, passed away, Wednesday, December 7, 2016. A funeral service will take place at Martin Funeral, Cremation, and Tribute Services-Mt. Morris, on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 1:00 pm. Pat Sexton will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2016, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dennis was born July 5, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, to Mr. & Mrs. Elliott and Alice (Bunn) Hoover. He graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1971. He and Laurie were united in marriage on August 20, 2005 in Flint, MI. Dennis worked for General Motors Metal Fab as a welder. He retired in 2006. Dennis liked NASCAR, working on cars, playing Texas Hold’em on the computer, going to casinos, going camping, and most of all socializing with family and friends. He was always joking and having a good time. Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Laurie Hoover; three children: Carol, Eric, Kevin Hoover and their mother, Christine; two stepchildren: Tony (Tricia) Lantzer, Victoria (Leo) Call; 11 grandchildren: Bryce, Chase, Autumn, Ashleigh, Taylor, Anthony, Aliana, Devon, Evan, Owen, Alivia; great-granddaughter: Sophia; mother: Alice (Butch) Jakowczk; two brothers: Elliott Hoover Jr., Larry (Lois) Hoover; three sisters: Astari Waters, Valerie (Chip) Smith, Gayle Hoover-Fisher; many nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his father. Family would like to extend a special thank you to Hurley Medical Center CCU for their exceptional care.
