Me & Mrs Gilmer, I am very saddened to hear of Dougs passing. We lost touch for quite a few years, but I remember like it was yesterday playing baseball (for quite a few years) from Mott to High School. I recall you two being very faithful fans! Deepest sympathy to Gilmer family.

My sincere condolences to the family of Doug. He and I grew up together on Poplar street, we walked to school and back home together nearly every day throughout our elementary and junior high days. I have often thought about him over the years and now regret that I didn't contact him to catch up on what's new and reminisce about our childhood days that I now cherish. Those were good times and Doug was a big part of them for me. I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Even though we didn't keep in touch as adults, his friendship as a kid was a positive influence on my life.
I am truly saddened by the news of his departure.
May your memories give you strength.
Sincerely,
Chris Clevenger
