Obituary of Marilyn Lou Liesong

Of Beverly Hills, Michigan, age 88, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will take place Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 10:00 am at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Chaplin Todd Regester from McLaren Hospice to officiate, with burial to follow in Christian Memorial Cemetery. Marilyn’s family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Twp. on Friday, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday at Christian Memorial Cemetery from 9:30 am until time of service at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's memory to Leader Dogs for the Blind or Paralyzed Veterans of America. Marilyn was born in Ironwood, Michigan on June 16, 1927, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Alice (Anderson) Holt. Marilyn and Frederick Liesong were united in marriage on June 9, 1951 and shared 51 years together. She was involved in many committees and activities at the Community Congregational Church. She volunteered as a driver for "FISH" a Christian organization for those who were unable to drive or didn’t have transportation. She also enjoyed crochet in her earlier years. She loved her family and her pets more than anything and she will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are her three children Fred and wife, Jean Liesong, Jan and husband Dan Fritsch, Mark and wife, Mary Liesong; two grandchildren Ryan and wife, Sarah Gunther, Sarah and husband, Azhr Misbah; two great grandchildren Ava and Aiden Misbah; her beloved pets Scruffy, Lucy, and Pita. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Fred and parents.
