Marilyn is a name I never used. This special person was and always will be Aunt Marley to me. The specialness was that of a love and feeling of connectedness that far surpassed the handful of times we physically saw each other over the years.
Aunt Marley had a special gift for reaching out and showing love through the cards and letters she so consistently sent through her lifetime. Her cards and letters, filled with news of my cousins, and in time her grandchildren, great grandchildren and pets, there was no mistaking the love and care that was so much a part of her DNA.
Now that she has graduated to eternal life with our loving Lord that she so faithfully served throughout her years, I am so grateful for the inspiration of love and service to others she demonstrated and I would like to think in some measure passed on to me.
Thank you so much Aunt Marley for going above and beyond in all the ways you loved your family and all those God brought into your life. Today, I would have loved to stand in person with my cousins to pay tribute to you. What I do know and pray is that your memory will continue to shine bright in all those you lovingly touched in your lifetime. So I'll say bye for now and looking forward to seeing you again when we won't have to deal with distance and distractions.
Loving all you were and are to me,
Your nephew Rick
