Obituary of Walter Cain

Age, 90, died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Oliver Woods Assisted Living in Owosso. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Service in Mt. Morris. Reverend Dennis Irish and Reverend Susan Kingsley will officiate. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Tuesday, from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorial donations may be directed to Leader Dogs for the Blind. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Walter was born to Howard and Augusta Cain on May 16, 1924, in Haleyville, Alabama. He graduated from Birch Run High School in 1942. He was united in marriage to Patricia Reynolds in Saginaw. He was in the Army for 2 years serving in Europe during WWII. He enjoyed painting, puzzles, playing the harmonica, reading, hunting and fishing. He belonged to the Genesee Lions Club, Trinity United Methodist in Owosso, and was on the Genesee school board for 16 years. Left to cherish his memory are, five children, Ann Marie Tobin, Terry Cain, Rick and wife, Denise Cain, Dave and wife, Lynn Cain, Sherri and husband, Dennis Irish; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grand children, and brother, Howard Cain. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, brother, Fritz Cain; two sisters, Jessica Cain, Virginia McKenzie; son, Michael Cain. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Oliver Woods Retirement Village in Owosso.
