Ardith, you may be the only one who would remember me coming to the house and Roy and I doing crazy things when we were young. Things like putting pennies on the railroad track and waiting for the train to go by so we could go find the flattened things. He would ride his bike to my house or I would ride my bike to his. They are good memories for me and I have a smile on my face for having known him and spending time together in our pre-teen years. I didn't see Roy much after graduating together, just now and then we would run into each other. I wish I had known that he lived to close to us these past years. (Sand Lake near East Tawas) Norm and I would have looked him up. Our prayer is for God's grace to shine in your heart, as you miss this brother of yours. Mary Griffin Tate

I had the opportunity to get to know Roy while working with our local Ducks Unlimited Chapter. We worked on many banquets together and he was a great man to work with. He retired from DU a few years ago but still attended our dinners. I know he struggled with his health the last few years but he always kept a positive outlook. He will be missed by us in the Alpena area. my condolences to his family. andy Tarkington

Roy, was our neighbor for many years. Roy was the best neighbor. Over the years we had many beers as we watched the sun go down over Grand Lake and we were never short of conversation. Roy was always interesting, knew what was happening near and far, always wanted to know how our children were doing and they loved him. We will sorely miss him and tonight will light a candle in his honor by the waterside, as we look over to his empty house.John and Margaret Madigan
