Obituary of Jimmy Duane Mims
Of Standish, formerly of Flint, age 56, died Friday, May 21, 2010 at his home. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Bishop Todd Anderson will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Jimmy's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Monday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. For health reasons, the family requests visitors to refrain from wearing any fragrances to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Jimmy was born June 13, 1953, in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Addie (Williams) Mims. He and Connie Mims were united in marriage May 27, 1995, in Las Vegas. Jimmy was a graduate of Hamady High School, Class of 1971, and was currently owner of Cash Now at the Green Acres Plaza in Saginaw. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and most of all being with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 15 years, Connie, three children, son, Mike and wife Debbie Collins, two daughters, Tanya and husband Corey Swanson, and Jennifer and husband Tony Morley; four grandchildren; Jessica, Courtney, Rachel and Austin, three sisters; Vickie and husband Richard Fletcher, Pamela Crandell and Jeanie Visnaw and Paul Clark, lifelong friend, Jerry "Fuzzy" Badgero, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers, David and Daniel, and infant brother, Bobby Ray.
