Obituary of Maria G Martinez

MARTINEZ, Maria age 71 of Vassar died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Covenant Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. Funeral service will be held, Monday, January 13, 2014, at 11:00 am at LifeLine Victory Center in Vassar. Pastor Wally Reames will officiate with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Sunday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Monday, Maria will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Maria was born in Weslaco, Texas, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fernando and Faustina (Rivera) Garza. She married Reymundo Martinez Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, had a strong faith in God and was an excellent cook. Left to cherish her memory are two children, Rey Jr. and wife, Priscilla Martinez and Angela Martinez; grandchildren, Daniel Rodriguez, Danielle Rodriguez, Alyssa DuBois Elleceia Choyce, Rey Martinez III, Vanessa Martinez, Isaiah Martinez, and LeMonte Davis; three great-grandchildren; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reymundo Sr.; and several brothers and sisters.
