One of my favorite memorys of my Grandma was when she and my grandfather would sit at their dining room table and watch tv together, and have great conversation with them and anybody that happened to pop in for a visit..but the one day that stands out in my mind is when we lived with them and on this particular day grandma had a spread of sandwich pickens on the table.. grandma was sitting in her chair and grandpa in his beside her, and on this day she was engrosed in reading a newspaper or something else of that matter..and grandpa was being his ussual self watching tv, and looking for somebody that he could pester and get a laugh out of one of us kids, because that was just the way he was... so as my grandmother sat reading.. , grandpa deciding it would be hillarious if he dipped his thumb in something wet , and slip it over onto my grandmothers reading glasses while she was wearing them, as she was trying to read what ever it was of her interest.. she would smirk and say alright now that is not funny, as we all would chuckle and snicker, grandma would clean her glasses off so she could see through them again, and continue and read her paper. Oh how grandpa loved to see how many times he could sneek a wet thumb back onto her glasses again and again to the point where she would laugh along with the rest of us.. and then when she had enough would threaten him.. that he better nock it off OR ELSE.. lol. But grandma was always tolerant of this type of humor, but on this day, he should have listened to the or else.. because after several times of smudging up her glasses and cleaning them over and over, grandma suprised not only grandpa but the rest of us, with a funny retaliation, when grandpa one last time, reached again for her glasses,...grandmas arm darted in front of grandpa where in front of him layed his own glasses on the table....and before all our eyes she snatched grandpas glassess up and rammed them into the open jar of mustard that sat on the table that we were using for our sandwich's...Grandpa was a loss for words as the rest of us sat there in disbelief and laughed and give grandma a thumbs up for such a good and funny payback... Grandma laughed rite along with us, but grandpa didn't think it was all that funny.. we learned that day, that Grandma could hold her own. and that if you can't take a joke than you shouldn't bite off more than you can chew.
