Mrs. Hitsman was one of my favorite teachers. She is the reason I teach today. My deepest condolences go out to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Her loving and kind nature touched so many lives. I still have a book that she gave me in 3rd grade. Thank you, Mrs. Hitsman for all that you taught me about school and life. Michele Kellems

To the family of Miss Hitsman, I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Miss Hitsman on several occasions last year at the Humane Society of South Central Michigan in Battle Creek. I enjoyed the stories of her pets that she loved greatly. Miss Hitsman had been involved with the Humane Society for many years and shared her experiences of raising money to help the unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats. I personally found Miss Hitsman a joy. She was full of energy and a delight to have at the social gatherings. I also remember her beautiful and colorful sweaters she wore to the events. She was a wonderful lady who made this world a better place. May God bless her and give you comfort during this sad time in your life. Sincerely, Wanda Cascarelli
