ALLEN, M. Lucille Of Mt. Morris, age 93, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at her home. Lucilleas memorial service will take place 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Mr. Walter David will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Lucilleas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and Wednesday morning from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Crossroadas Village or the American Red Cross. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Lucille was born May 22, 1913 in Paulding, Ohio the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Lena (Rollins) Hanover. She and Paul Joseph Allen were united in marriage November 24, 1932 in Genesee. He preceded her in death in 1981. As a young woman she was a celebrated ballroom dancer receiving many trophies in Clark Lake area competitions. Lucille was a valued employee of the Lona Fox Duckwitz Shop in the Capitol Theater Arcade Building. This was the start of her career in the fashion industry. Lucille and Paul opened the Lucille Allen Shop in Mt. Morris in May of 1951. Over the years expanding to locations in Clio, the North Flint Shopping Center and Swartz Creek until the flagship location in Mt. Morris closed in 1999. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at Maplewood Manor Nursing Facility in Clio and also at Crossroad Village in many capacities, including Mrs. Claus. In 2000, Lucille was inducted into the Mt. Morris Community Hall of Honor in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mary Jo (Gordon) Schultz of Oscoda, Daniel (Barbara) Allen of Clio, Judith Harman of Mt. Morris, grandchildren, G. Joseph (Annette) Schultz of Clio, Tracy (James) Allis of Clio, Lisa (David) Phillips of Long Grove, Illinois, Daniel Jr. (Cheryl) Allen of Lapeer, Darci (Michael) Nagy of Flint, Paul A. (Christina) Harman of Aransas Pass, Texas, 17 great-grandchildren, brother, C.D. Hanover of Davison, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul J. Allen, daughter Jacqueline Susan, grandson Daris R. Allen and son-in-law, Roy A. Harman.
