Obituary of Genevieve I. Ferris

Genevieve I. Ferris\ Age 90 of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, Mr. Vernon Lawrence officiating with burial following at New Calvary Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends 3:00 pm -7:00 pm Sunday and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Monday. Memorial donations may be considered to the Avalon Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Genevieve was born June 3, 1916 in Johanasberg, Michigan daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph and Anna (Splitt) Rutkowski. She and Russell Ferris were united in marriage on April 29, 1939 in Flint, Michigan. Genevieve worked in Interior Design for over forty years with Sanford House and Murrayas Decorating. She was highly creative and her concepts were way ahead of the times. She was also an expert seamstress, worked with stained glass, enjoyed gardening and dancing to Glenn Miller. Genevieve was considered the "gluea that held their family together. Genevieveas memory will be cherished by her three children, Judith and husband Jack Eder of Atlanta, GA., Linda Ferris of Ann Arbor, Lee and wife Kathy Ferris of Montrose; three grandchildren, Brad Leix, Paul Meeker, and Roxanne Burke; eight grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years Russell, on May 22, 2006; and her sister, Mary Kelly in the early 1990as \ Genevieveas family would like to extend a heart felt thanks to the staff of Avalon Hospice for the compassionate care of both of their parents, Russell and Genevieve.\ \
