Died Friday November 17, 2006 at his residence. Age 73 he was born April 28, 1933 in LaGrange County Indiana, the son of Elmer and Mary M. (Belich) Collier. He was a Graduate of Sebewaing High School. He married Malrey Bea Brown March 20, 1956 in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1955 and also served our country honorable in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1960. He retired in 1986 from the Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw as supervisor with 36 1/2 years of service. He was life member and Post Commander of Akron-Fairgrove VFW Post 7486 and a member of the Reese American Legion Post 139. He had attended Harvest Baptist Church in Akron. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and old cars. Left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 52 years, Malrey Bea Collier, son Robert Elliott Collier and wife Cathy of Fairgrove, daughter Barbara Ann Ahrens and husband Douglas of Reese, 2 step-children Carolyn Rapson and husband Ted of Saginaw, John A. Sowatsky of Fla. 8 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, 2 sisters Beverly Redwanz and husband Neal - Decatur, Ala. Nancy Zelmer and husband Thomas of Vassar. He was preceeded in death by his parents Elmer and Mary Collier, a brother E. Wayne Collier, and infant sister Geraldine Collier. Funeral Services will take place 1:00 pm Monday at the Martin Funeral Home, Fairgrove Chapel, Pastor Phillip Hudson will officiate with burial in Brookside Cemetery with Military honors by Akron-Fairgrove VFW Post 7486. The family will receive friends at funeral home on Sunday from 2-9pm . Sunday and on Monday from 9:00am until time of service a 1:00pm Akron-Fairgrove VFW Post 7486 will conduct a Memorial Service at 7:00pm Sunday. \
