Of Mt. Morris, age 81, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Prudyas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Sunday from 11:00am to 8:00pm. On Sunday evening, family, friends, and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 6:00pm. On Monday Prudy will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Prudy was born November 3, 1925 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Cecelia (Callahan) McDermaid. As a young woman she and Donald Parker were united in marriage January 9, 1943. He preceded her in death April 21, 1980. She worked for many years at Lucille Allen Ladies Apparel in Mt. Morris and also as a dietician at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint. Prudy was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, baking, cross stitching and shopping. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Candy and husband Gerry Geiman of Ann Arbor, Beth and husband Eric Hornbeck of Dryden, daughter-in-law, Louise Parker of Clio, three grandchildren, Jerry and wife Monique Geiman, Kim Geiman, and Ed Parker, step-granddaughter, Marianne Hornbeck, a great-grandson, Colin Geiman, sister, Mary and husband Bryce Finn of Cheyboygan, brother, William and wife Arlene McDermaid of Mt. Morris, and many nieces and nephews. Prudy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Patrick in 2004, brother Jack in 2004, and step-grandson, Robert in April of 2006. \
