Of Fairgrove, age 97, died Wednesday, January 9, 2007 at her residence. Erma was born May 17, 1909 in Saginaw, the daughter of Edward F. and Mary (Hlinak) Gehrls. She was a lifetime resident of Fairgrove and a member of the Watrousville Methodist Church. Erma worked many years at the State Hospital as an attendant supervisor. She was very witty and enjoyed reading and traveling. Surviving are her grandson Kit and wife Margaret Botkins of Cheyenne, WY; great grandchildren; Chris and Stephanie Botkins; sister Mabel Gehrls of Bay City; brothers Vern and Howard Gehrls of Fairgrove; many nieces and nephews. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward, and brother Henry. The family would like to extend a special thanks to neighbors and friends; Eileen, Peggy, Sherry, Alice, and Marty all of Fairgrove and Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday January 11, 2007 at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove with Pastor James Payne officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove 2-9pm Thursday and Friday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to the Watrousville Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.\
