Obituary of Edward R. Merrill

MERRILL, Edward Richard "Dicka\ \ Age 80, of Mt. Morris, went home to the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will take place 11:00am, Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Edwardas family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Wednesday morning from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the North Flushing Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.\ \ Edward was born June 5, 1926 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin and Verna (Madison) Merrill. He and Virginia Murdoch were married for over 53 years. Edward retired from GM, Fisher Body, after 31 years of service. He was a member of the North Flushing Baptist Church. Growing up he loved being on the farm and swimming in the creek with friends. He enjoyed driving up north to his cabin and scenic drives all over Northern Michigan. He loved worshipping the Lord, attending bible studies and church services.\ \ Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lester D. Merrill,\ Rita Merrill, \ And Edward and wife Mary Merrill,\ grandchildren: Alan Merrill,\ Ted Babcock,\ Stephanie Howard,\ Corey Merrill,\ Eddie Merrill,\ Marlaina Merrill,\ Eva Merrill and\ Ryan Merrill,\ four great-grandchildren,\ sister: Joan and husband Dale Link,\ brothers: Raymond and wife Arlene Merrill,\ Norman and wife Lois Merrill,\ Bruce Merrill,\ Chuck and wife Hazel Merrill,\ and many nieces, nephews and friends. \ \ Edward was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, and grandson Eddie Merrill.\
