Obituary of Thelma Lorraine Walsh

Of Gaines, age 88, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Fenton Extended Care. The funeral service will take place 3:00 pm, Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Carl Halquist will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Thelma's family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 2:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or to the A.S.P.C.A. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Thelma was born June 15, 1925, in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Lottie (Posey) Smith. She and Harold W. Walsh were united in marriage in Riggold, Georgia in 1984. Sadly Harold preceded her in death on September 03, 1994. She worked at McLaren Regional Medical Center for 11 years before retiring in 1971. Thelma was a dedicated, hard working mother and wife that enjoyed teaching her five sons' to jitterbug, attending church and spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory, five sons, William T. Miller, Cecil R. Miller, John E. and Kathleen Miller. Jr., Troy E. and Debbie Matthews, Jimmy L. and Pat Matthews; many grandchildren and great-granchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, two brothers George and Henry, two sisters Bertha and Emma.
