Obituary of Peter Junior Skacal

Of West Branch, age 81, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at home surrounded by family. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Heartland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Peter was born February 10, 1932 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter and Pauline (Mucha) Skacal. He and Dorothy (Hennigar) were united in marriage on June 20, 1953 in Flint, Michigan. Peter worked for General Motors for 19 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, playing cards with family and playing computer games. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf, pool and hunting. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none he could fix anything. He was very quick witted and could put a smile on your face in a moment. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed visiting with sister Helen Niziol and Pastor Jensen. Left to cherish his memory are children, Carol Crivea and husband, Wayne, Cherylee Manley and husband, Ricky, Peter Wayne Skacal and wife, Gail; granchildren Jason, Anne, Kyle, Petey, Tara, Aaron, Whitney; sixteen great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Niziol and Joann Coggins; sister-in-law Diane Hennigar; many nieces; nephews and friends.
