Obituary of Flo Ayotte

Age 74, of Flint, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at home. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Jim Harvey will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 PM. On Thursday evening, the Clio Eagles Aerie # 3609 will have a service at 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family fund for a charity to be decided. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Flo was born April 22, 1939, in Corbin, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant and Susan (Logan) Osborne. She and Arnie were united in marriage October 24, 1975, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, Arnie preceded her in death on March 21, 1998. She worked for Buick for 21 years until her retirement in 1993. Flo was a member of the UAW # 599, Vassar Country Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge-Flint #374 and a long time member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3609-Clio. Flo enjoyed bird watching, golfing, traveling, going to the casino, socializing with her family and friends and sharing the story about her hole-in-one while golfing in Florida. Left to cherish her memory are children, Kathy (Jule), Erway, John (Jody) Russell, and Shelby Jo; 7 grandchildren, Jami, Justin, Bobby, Aaron and Nathan Russell, Jason ( Lisa) Erway and Josh ( Tara) Pettingall; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings; three step-children, Arnett Perkins, Gaylord Ayotte, and Cheryl (Varnum) Boyer; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends, Emra, Carol, Paula and Louise. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer "Arnie"; son, Butch Russell; step-son, Richard Ayotte; sister-in-law, Genny Ayotte; and friend, Betty Sorensen.
