Obituary of Sophie Ann Vargo

Of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with a private burial to follow. Sophie's family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home to receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, family, friends and parish will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. On Thursday, Sophie will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation - Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Sophie was born April 10, 1927, in Staten Island, New York, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Anna (Cuomo) Errichiello. She and John Vargo were united in marriage August 9, 1946, in Baltimore Maryland. Sophie was known best for her stylish personality, cooking Italian food for family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, playing BINGO, attending church, bowling, golfing, shopping, crocheting, and dancing. Left to cherish her memory husband of 67 years, John; daughter, Beverly Vargo and husband William Reich; two grandchildren, Benjamin and wife Sara Graham, and Sophie Reich; great-granddaughter, Sophie Graham; many brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews; also, the children and grandchildren of beloved friend, Evelyn Daniel; Cathy Daniel, Tim and Wendy Daniel; grandchildren, McKenna and Zachary Daniel. Preceded in death by her parents and many brothers and sisters and friends.
