Lucille has been a part of my life for as long as I remember. As a child I was treated like a member of the family. Jill and I were always together especially during the summer.Their house was always full of activity, people and food. Sometimes strange food. Like grill cheese with peanut butter. I never developed a taste for it, but Jill sure did.\
Lucille had no problem finding things for us to do. I don't know if she just figured we would get tired of doing chores and go outside and quit bugging her or what, it didn't matter we still bugged her. \
As a child I always thought that she did the most exotic things. Like make her own sauerkraut Who does that? I remember how awful it smelled and wondered why she would go through all of that trouble when you can buy it at the store. She would just say it's not the same. \
The Davy house was so different then mine. People yelled.. they yelled a lot. Not mean yelling. Yelling just to be heard over everyone else that was yelling. The house was filled with family most of the time. As you know there is a lot of family. I have a good size family, three sisters and a brother, but we didn't compare to the Davy crew when they got together. And there was always something going on, little mini dramas everyday. I felt like my family was boring compared to these guys. But Lucille would handle it all. She would always have some no nonsense reply to questions ask. She didn't mess around. If she thought that you were doing something stupid, she told you so. NO muss, no fuss straight to the point. Kind of like a later day version of Doctor Phil " AND HOW IS THAT WORKING FOR YOU? "\
She made a Christmas ornament for me quite a few years ago. Its a blue and silver bell made from beads. I have hung that bell on every Christmas tree since she gave it to me. Every time I hung it, I would remember Jill and I "testing" her chocolate covered cherries from the freezer I know you all rememer that they were soaked in Rum or something that two young girls shouldn't have. She will always live in my Heart.\
