Obituary of Rhonda Elaine Hammond

Of Swartz Creek, age 58, died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at her home. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Thursday, August 15, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Rhonda's family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive friends from 10:00am until 8:00pm. On Thursday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Rhonda was born April 13, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lena (Davis) Maxson. She and David Lee Hammond were united in marriage November 23, 1983, in Flushing. Rhonda worked for Vg's for 33 years before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, golfing and knitting. Left to cherish her memory, husband David; four children, Scott Hammond, Tonya Boaz, Tom Odom and Chad (Vicki) Hammond; eight grandchildren, Gareth, Javon, Kammbree, Hunter, Jazmine, Ethan, Freddy P., and Yelena; four siblings, Sue (Mike) Lay, Robert (Dagmar) Maxson, Ronald (Vicki) Maxson and Roxanne (Darrell) Tester; several nieces nephew and special friends, Jim (Debbie) Risner; brother-in-law Dale (Karen) Hammond; and sister-in-law Patti Roggentine. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Vance Roggentine.
