Obituary of Harry Robert Ackerman

Of Mt. Morris, age 91, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Childerhose will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Harryas family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Medilodge of Montrose. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. \ \ Harry was born February 22, 1916 in Mt. Morris Twp. the son of Herbert and Inza (Lawrence) Ackerman. He and Vera A. Webster were united in marriage in 1946 in Mt. Morris. Harry was born, raised and worked on his family farm in Mt. Morris Twp. until he was 82 years old. During that time he worked as a stock chaser and fork truck driver for Buick for 27 years, retiring in 1976. \ \ Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Vera, three children: Connie and husband Devere "Bugsa Spencer of Montrose, Catherine Firman of Mt. Morris, and Robert W. and wife Sheila Ackerman of Mt. Morris, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two nieces: Janice Spinney and Bonnie Korn, both of Flushing and their children. \ \ Harry was preceded in death his parents, grandson: Russel J.
