Dearest Pete,\

I received a call today from my friend Terri Ann from Flushing Florist letting me know "our girl" lost her fight. She knew that there was something amiss when I didn't call her for flowers. Thank goodness she did. We may have gotten home next week and felt even worse!!We were on the beach in Marco Island. We are just devastated. The bizarre thing about this is that I almost called Debi this afternoon just to say "Hey, girl! We are thinking/praying for you. And keep on keeping on....miracles happen every day." (I was doing my bible study and there were a few stories about people with cancer and how they survived it all through the grace of God & good doctors, of course....) As you can imagine, I was totally caught off-guard by the call. I cannot seem to grasp this Pete. I really did not realize her time was so limited. I feel that I didn't get to say everything I wanted to say to her. But somehow, I know she knows/knew how much we love/loved her. \
Some of our fondest memories and best times have been with you two. How and why was she taken away from us so soon? I always dreamed of being little old women together and giggling like we used to in the "good old days" while you and Tony watched us act silly. And you know, it never mattered how much time passed between us, we always picked up where we left off.\
We have lost our sweet "baby girl", as she used to call me. We will miss her so much. She was so beautiful, so special. There aren't many like her. She ranks right up there with Ellen. How ironic, huh?\
Sometimes there just aren't enough words. \
I hope you know we are always here for you. \
We love you and wish we could be there with you. Please know we are with you in thoughts and prayers. \

Our love always. Kiss our girl for us. Tell her we love her and will miss her dearly. She was so brave and fought so hard. She is now another "Guardian Angel" to me. \
