Obituary of Douglas J. Ayers

Douglas J. Ayers\ 1931-2007\ Age 75 of Mt. Morris died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Hurley Hospital. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Mt. Morris Community Church, Pastor Eldon Busenitz will officiate with burial in Thetford Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until 8:00pm. Memorial Contributions may be directed to a Hurley Neo Natal Unit. \ \ Douglas was born June 15, 1931 in Clio, Michigan the son of Rev. Roland and Ernstine (Hect) Ayers. He married Noma Harty December 27, 1957. Douglas was a member of Mt. Morris Community Church, retired from AC after 35 years of service and also served in the U.S. Army. He was also enjoyed volunteer work and was a chaplain at Hurley Medical Center.\ \ Surviving are his wife Noma Ayers, 3 children Bob and Lori Ayers of Swartz Creek, Danielle and Donn Kenyon of Grand Rapids, and Chriss Ayers of Mt. Morris, 3 grandchildren Katie Kenyon, Kyle Kenyon, and Rob Hacker, one brother Bob and wife Ruth Ayers also, several nieces and nephews and his AaA"Hurley FamilyAaA.\ \ He was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Ernstine Ayers, and one grandson Andrew D. Ayers. \ \ \
