Obituary of Joe Del Core

Of Mt. Morris, age 77, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm., Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Joe's family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Joe was born July 26, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michele and Angeline (Gingrande) Del Core. He and Pat Callahan were united in marriage December 23, 1961 in Belleville, New Jersey. He worked for General Motors for 22 years before retiring in January 1, 1999. He was a member of UAW Local #659 and a member of American Legion Post #164. Joe proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War for 4 years until receiving his honorable discharge on January 7, 1959. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, crossword puzzles, playing the lottery, woodworking, hunting, fishing and mowing the lawn. Left to cherish his memory, wife Pat, four children Jill (Dale) Keenan, Dawn Beckner, Joe Del Core and Melissa Wager; 12 grandchildren, Angel, Meggan (James), Stephanie (Ryan), Shawn (Katie), Joey, Jamie, Zachary, Desmond, Corey, Kristen, Taylor and Lyndsey; nine great-grandchildren, Anthony, Hannah, Gabrielle, Cody, Yazmin, Callie, Audrina, Ethan and Ellie; brother Nick Del Core; and many other family members and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Meggan Anne Del Core, grandson Anthony Keenan.
