I only had the opportunity of meeting James one time and that is when I was younger and I came to Flint with my Mom, (Betty Sue), and her then husband (Claude)-- (James Uncle). James was so nice to me and made me feel right at home. I was young and was going to meet people I had never meet before and I was a little nervous. Being around James for just a short time, he made sure I felt right at home. I enjoyed getting that one chance to get to know him and I will always remember him as a happy-friendly person with a heck of a personality.,I wish I could have gotten to had more visits to Flint through to years. I know James and I would have ended up being Best Friends. I know you all are going to miss him and I know I will always remember him. Pat, take care of yourself and I wish you could have gotten to meet my wife of two years (Ashley) and my son "Austin Blake" who will be 1 year old on June 20. Rest in Peace "James". The first time I met James, he offered to make me dinner. I knew him from work, and seen him there, but only really met him when I found out we lived in the same apartment complex. He came over and offered to give me dinner. From then on, we spoke quite frequently and exchanged many words at work and in passing. From what I got from James, he was a very giving person. He would give anything to anyone if he could. I was shocked and very sad to hear what had happened Since then he, his family and the many thoughts have been in my head. He will be sadly missed and not easily forgotten. Words for Tyler, be very strong, and try your hardest to be brave. I know it will not be easy at first, but as time goes by, it will. God bless all of you and my heart goes to all in this time of sorrow.

Word of the passing of James was sent to me in Virginia Beach. My family and I are extremely saddened by the news of the loss of James. He has left fond memories in all of our hearts. He was always very upbeat and had a hope and vigor for life, that will continue to resonate with those who had the honor of knowing him. Aunt Pat, Kimmy and John Craig, \ \ Wow. Such a shock. I am so deeply sorrow-filled for all three of you, for your hearts, your minds and your soul. I know that God has his timing and that in time we will understand the reason for God's need to have James with him.
