Obituary of Florence Stratton

Of Winter Haven, Florida, age 94, closed her eyes for the last time on Monday, December 14, 2009 at Brandywyne Health Care Center. The funeral service will take place 3:00pm, Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. FlorenceAaas family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Thursday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Hospice Auburndale, Florida. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Florence was born October 27, 1915 in Lapeer, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Rose (Van Horn) Running. She and Ray Stratton were united in marriage on September 8, 1933 in Lapeer. Ray preceded her in death on April 15, 1997. Florence was a member of the Mt. Morris Chapter #474 O.E.S. Florence enjoyed spending time outside with her roses and her dog Ginger, most of all she loved spending time with her family. Florence leaves to cherish her memory her four children; Jerry and wife Rose Stratton of Bridgeport, Wanda Scruggs of Sanford, FL., Leroy and wife Pat Stratton of Flint, Delores and husband Robert Gagnon of Winter Haven FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Leota and husband Melvin Heath of Lapeer; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray, son-in-law, Herbert, four great-grandsons, Michael, Jared, Jordan, Jeffrey; five brothers and one sister.
