Obituary of Roy E. Smith

Of Mt. Morris, age 70, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at his home. Funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Roy's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of funeral at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. \ \ Roy was born August 4, 1936 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Reva (Cook) Smith. He and Jo McDonald in 1954 in Clio. He retired from GE in 1993 with 30 years of service as an electric motor repairman. \ \ Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jo Smith, seven children: Steve (Carol) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Scarlett of Flint, Kelly (Cassie) of Mt. Morris, \ Tammy (Dennis) of Clio, Amy (Jim) of Otisville, Brett (Stephanie) of Clio, Rusty (Paula) of Mt. Morris, 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters: Geraldine Baerlin and Pauline (Bob) Ratza, several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. \ \ Roy was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and beloved sister, Lynne.\
