Obituary of Reginald Corey

Of Mt. Morris, age 77, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at McLaren Flint. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Keith Childerehose will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Reginald was born October 28, 1935 in Alba, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Fannie (Garshaw) Corey. He and Carol Sue Morey were united in marriage September 22, 1961. Reginald proudly served his country in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Flint and worked as a mechanic until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading the Bible, singing and playing the guitar and woodworking. Reginald leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Vivian and Rhoda Corey; six grandchildren, Christina Miller-Bellor, Stephanie Miller-Taylor, Robby Miller, Jessica Wolverton, Jennifer Schneider and Jonny Corey; five great-grandchildren, Jahmon and Jayla Barron-Miller, Alejandro Sarmiento-Miller, Joseph Bellor and Paige Wolverton; two sisters, Dolores Chanda and Vivian Corey; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol Sue; and son, Judson Corey.
