Obituary of Jerry Howard

Of Flint, age 84, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Kith Haven. The funeral service will take place 10:30 am, Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Chaplain Goodman Cox will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kith Haven Nursing Home . Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jerry was born December 15, 1928 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Judson and Ida (Matzke) Howard. He and Patricia Beehn were united in marriage December 23, 1950. He worked at Chevy Truck and Bus for 39 years, retiring in 1988 and was a member of the UAW #598. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching and gardening. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Pat; six children, Tom, Fred and wife, Donna, Robert and wife, Phyllis, Bill and wife, Gail, Steve and wife, Sherry and Cathy and husband, Dallas Neubecker; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill and wife, Sharon Howard; sister, Carol and husband, Dewey Beehn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Karen; and 6 brothers.
