Of Clio, age 89, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Brian's House Hospice in Davison. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00PM Monday evening, and from 1:00PM until 4:00PM and 6:00PM until 9:00PM Tuesday at Miles Martin funeral Home in Mt. Morris, Rev. Fr. Gerald Ploof will officiate a funeral Mass on Wednesday at 1:00AM at SS Charles and Helena Catholic church in Clio, with visitation from 10:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM, preceding the service. Family and friends will gather at Steuernol McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch from 6:00PM until 9:00PM Wednesday evening, and pray a rosary at 7:00PM. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West branch will be Thursday morning at 11:00AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Federation of the Blind.\

Ruth was born February 12, 1918 in West Branch, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Mary (Sapp) Ray. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1934. She and Albert (Walt) Freiheit were united in marriage on September 26, 1942 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch, and resided in the Flint area of 65 years. Ruth worked for Flint Masonic Temple Catering by Battise for about 28 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling.\

Surviving are her sons, Thomas and wife Judy Freiheit, James Freiheit, Steven and wife Janet Freiheit, daughter Sharon and husband Arthur Goatbe, all of Clio, daughters, Judith Fike of Goodrich, Susan and husband George of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael and wife Evelyn Rau of West Branch; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hamilton of West Branch and Arlene Rau of Bay City.\

She was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Mary (Sapp) Rau, husband Albert (Walt) Freiheit, first-born son Jackie, sister Margaret Dorris, brothers, Eugene and Jack Rau. \
