Grandpa,
I love you. I am so glad that you already know how much because there is no way that I could express it all in written form. I am just not that good with words. But you know, don't you.
My life is so blessed because you have been my grandfather. Your smile and laugh has always brought me joy and made me smile. The way you told stories drew me in and I wanted to hear more. Your stories were always punctuated with your right hand pointing out the importance or main idea. You encouraged me and gave me opportunities to sing and play the flute. I will never forget you leading the youth choir and the fun we had being under your direction. I don't think I ever told you how much it meant to me that you and Aunt Jeanette took care of the music at my wedding. I was so scatterbrained that I didn't even think to ask you. I guess Mom did and I am glad because that is exactly what I wanted -- you bringing praise to our Father as I embarked on a new chapter in my life. Thank you for being there and knowing my heart and doing it. Chuck and I will always cherish that.
Grandpa, the way you blessed me the most is in the spiritual legacy that you continued from what you were taught. Seeing your open Bible, hearing you pray, watching you lead worship and knowing that you loved God more than anything impacted me the most. You lived before me a life of holiness and I am forever changed because of it. Thank you for walking with Him so that I could see an example of Godliness.
I may not hear you sing again on this earth, but we both know that you will be singing in heaven and one day we will praise our God and Savior together. I look forward to that day. So, why don't we plan on spending at least a 1,000 years together. We will sing, catch up, and praise the Father face-to-face -- you and me. It's a date.
