Of Mt. Morris, age 80, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Heritage Manor Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 am, Friday, September 27, 2013, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Thursday evening at 6:30 pm, family and friends will gather for a Knights of Columbus Service and Chalice Ceremony conducted by the K of C Holy Family Council #4285 and the Leon J. Satkowiak 4th Degree Assembly #0524. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Mary Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Leonard was born November 14, 1932, in Kawkawlin, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam and Helen (Dobozynski) Klosowski. He and Rita Elizabeth Zientak were united in marriage June 9, 1956. Sadly she preceded him in death in 1987. Leonard was a member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council #4285, where he spent 17 years running the Fish Fry. In his free time Leonard enjoyed camping, especially at the East Tawas City Park, he loved cooking, canning hot peppers and chili sauce and he made the best cabbage rolls. He also enjoyed playing 31, visiting casinos and spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are children, David and wife, Camille Klosowski , Kenneth and wife, Patricia Klosowski, Lorie Klosowski and Stephen and wife, Wendy Klosowski ; grandchildren, Sara, Joseph, Alexander, Marie and Mallory; sibilings, Raymond and wife, Elaine Klosowski, Joann Venner and Bernard and wife, Geri Klosowski; sister-in-law, Irene Riggs; many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita; daughter, Linda Kay; brother, Jerry and sister, Patricia.
