Obituary of Patricia Suzanne Burdgick

Of Flint, age 84, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. The funeral service will take place 2:00pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Jim Nelson will officiate with cremation to follow. PatriciaAaas family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 10:00am until time of service at 2:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the St. JudeAaas Children Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Patricia was born November 6, 1925 in Athens, Ohio the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norris and Marjorie (Cable) Goodman. While working at the local drug store during WWII she met a man by the name of Louis Burdgick. She and Louis were united in marriage on February 16, 1946 at All Saints Catholic Church in Flint. Louis preceded her in death on September 21, 1983. Patricia loved collecting Betty Boop memorabilia, spending time with her family and friends, going on road trips and shopping. Patricia was a nanny and cared for many children throughout the years, several of them still talk about her to this day. Patricia or AaA"Big Grandma,AaA as her great-grandchildren call her, will be remembered for being a great story-teller, and that she AaA"knowedAaA everything. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory son Anthony and wife Bonnie, daughter-in-law, Susan Burdgick; two sisters, Sara Jean and JoAnn; six grandchildren; Suzy and husband Steven Clark, Raymond and wife Leslie Burdgick, Mimi Burdgick, Toni Marie Burdgick, Michael Raymond and wife Tasha Burdgick, Michael Kenneth Wood; five great-grandchildren; Christopher, Starla, Skyler, Gavin, Alexis. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Patricia's family would like to thank special friend, Carol for all the love and care she provided. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis, son, Raymond and sister, Betty.
