Obituary of Barbara Jean Murray
Age 82, of Midland, died Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Royalton Manor Nursing Home in St. Joseph, Michigan. A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor John Scally to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Barbara’s family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Barbara was born on March 8, 1942, in Flint, The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin and Earlene (Rodgers) Bindscheatel. Barbara was a wonderful mother and took great pride in tending to and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings, especially holidays, where she took great pride in making all of the food and would not allow any help. Barbara had a wonderful servant heart. Caring for others was what she did best. Barbara also enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and working out in her yard tending to her hostas. Barbara made sure to call all of her family several times a week and enjoyed spending eight to nine hours talking on the phone with them. When she wasn’t on the phone, she enjoyed watching real-life crime shows.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her children: Debbie Richards, Sheri and husband, Jeff McKinley, Michael and wife, Andrea Murray, Mark and wife, Justen Murray; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Beverly Fitch; sister-in-law, Frances Bindscheatel; best friend, Connie; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Rick and wife, Terry Stacy, David Stacy; siblings: Gerald Bindscheatel, Marvin Bindscheatel, Glenda Whitson; first husband, Gordon “Pete” Stacy, second husband, Elvin Murray.
