Obituary of Earl Thomas Morgan

Age 79, of Clio, died Monday, May 27, 2024, at Medilodge in Montrose. A funeral Service will take place at 11:30am, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Chaplain Wayne Barrett to officiate, with burial to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Earl’s family will be present to receive friends from 10:30am until the time of service at 11:30am. Earl was born in Flint, on August 11, 1944, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Lottie Mae (Crank) Morgan. Educated locally, Earl attended Beecher High School and graduated with the Class of 1962. On March 9, 1966, Earl proudly enlisted in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class. Specialist Morgan served during the Vietnam War, earning his National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marksman Badge for the M-14 Rifle, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device. On March 7, 1969, Specialist Morgan was honorably discharged and returned home to the States. He started his career working at General Motors-Buick and retired as a Quality Control Engineer after 30 years. On November 9, 1985, Earl married the love of his life, Eunice Daniel. Together they raised a beautiful family. Earl was a very handy man. Family meant the world to Earl, and he enjoyed having everyone over for dinners, especially holidays where he would cook a large meal. Earl enjoyed fishing anywhere he could. He also enjoyed spending time at Soaring Eagle Casino and playing the Lotto. Earl has owned a truck for as long as anyone could remember. He loved them and would never not own one. Working in his yard or in his garden was one of Earl’s favorite pastimes. In his free time, Earl enjoyed playing Euchre, listening to Oldies or Elvis. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Earl’s memory are his beloved wife, Eunice Morgan; children: Debbie and husband, Roger Waterhouse, Rebecca Caldwell, Dawn Marie and husband, Rodney Olson; step-children: Erwin Evans, Kim Harris, Wayne Summers; grandchildren: Jacob Morgan, Tyler Olson, Zachary Olson, Haileigh Olson, Jasmine Caldwell, Camryn Caldwell; two great-grandchildren: Lorelai Ann Marie Olson, Arabella Grey Olson; sister: Marlene and husband, Leroy Snyder; numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Rita Daniel; special niece, Staci Magee; special friends: Mike “Mickey Mouse” and Barb Bishop; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Dylan Olson; sisters: Doris Stark, Judy Morgan, Barbara Baxter; stepchildren: Eunell Geraci and Michael Evans.
