Obituary of Billy Edwin Templeton
Age 79, of Mt. Morris, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at home with his family by his side. In accordance with Billy's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church; 2451 E. Mt. Morris Rd. Pastor Jim Harvey to officiate. Billy’s family will be present to receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be considered to the Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church. Billy was born in Flint on July 11, 1946, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel and Mary (Butterfield) Templeton. Educated locally, Billy graduated from Flint Northern High School with the Class of 1964. Billy's career path would lead him to AT&T, where he worked as a supervisor for the company for 35 years, until his retirement. On November 14, 1988, Billy married the love of his life, Lila “Lou” Sammons. Billy loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, or boating, everyone knew outside was Billy's happy place. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family. He taught his beloved grandchildren how to fish, golf, bowl, and play softball. He loved coaching their little league. Billy enjoyed traveling and took many trips to the mountains, Las Vegas, and the Upper Peninsula. He also owned several racehorses and had a love for his dogs. But most of all, Billy loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Billy’s memory are his beloved wife, Lou Templeton; children: Angie (Kim) Templeton, Andrea (Dave) Cheadle, Christopher Templeton, Stacie (Nicholas) Gergely, Scott (Kristie) Hitchcock; grandchildren: Blake (Emma), Kelsey, Taylor, Alex, Brooke (Matthew), Tyler, Jack, Kaytlin, Laine, Jack, Sam; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Laurel Lewis, Lona Scribner, Lenora Kinney, Leshia (Dennis) Rose; special niece, Kaylene (Roger) Gabriel; special fishing and hunting friend, Nelson Klein; many special nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Daniel Templeton.
