Age 68, of Clio, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. In accordance with Dale's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Keith Garrison to officiate. Dale's family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12noon until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be considered to the American Heart Association. Dale was born on December 11, 1955, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce and Joyce (Witter) La May. Educated locally, Dale graduated from Hamady High School with the Class of 1974. Dale would pursue a career in the trucking industry, working as a long-haul truck driver. Proud of his Native American Heritage, Dale was a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe. Dale enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He spent many years bowling in several bowling leagues. He also enjoyed shooting pool. When he felt luck was on his side, Dale enjoyed going to the casino to play Poker or Blackjack. Dale was a huge animal lover, his faithful companion, Dusti, was always by his side.
Left to cherish Dale's memory are his siblings: Gary and wife, Vicki La May, and Bonita and husband, Doug Russell; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lonn La May, Cindy Betts, Bruce "Cork" La May, Jr., fiancee of 50 years, Laura Wood.
