Obituary of Frank Talas
Age 71, of Flint, died May 4, 2024, at Wellbridge of Clarkston. In accordance with Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Frank’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.
Frank was born on February 4, 1953, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Noreen (Januska) Talas. Frank proudly enlisted in the United States Army on April 29, 1977, where he served in Alaska during Vietnam until his honorable discharge on March 25, 1985. Upon his return to the States, Frank obtained many skills and also became a certified RV technician where he worked until his retirement. Frank met his beautiful wife, Phyllis Mitchell, and the two were united in marriage on February 2, 1974, at Snow Hill Chapel in Fort Richardson, Alaska. Frank loved to fish anywhere he could find water. He also enjoyed art projects and building and painting models. History was his favorite hobby. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed learning as much as he could about history. Frank enjoyed listening to many genres of music and was very eclectic. He had an amazing collection of baseball hats. Frank was a survivalist and a huge animal lover of all kinds. In his free time, Frank enjoyed playing World of Warcraft. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Frank’s memory are his children: Scott and wife, Elizabeth Talas, Paulette Erickson; grandchildren: Amanda, Austin, Aaron, Elysia, Malakai, Adarah, Tristan, Elanor, Blue, Cassandra, and Franklin, III; great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Elliott; sister, Norma Keller; niece, Abby and nephew, Erik.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Talas; and his parents.
