Obituary of Jenny Lynn Hayes
Age 71, of Flint, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Courtyard Manor in Swartz Creek with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30am, Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning to officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Jenny’s family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, from 1:00pm until 8:00pm, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. On Thursday morning, Jenny will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:30am. Jenny was born in Flint on March 1, 1953, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Bertha (Knudsen) DeVille. Educated locally, she attended Beecher High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. Jenny met the love of her life, George Hayes, through a mutual friend and they were united in marriage on June 12, 1976, at St. Frances Catholic Church. Jenny was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime. Her granddaughter was her pride and joy. Jenny enjoyed going on road trips. One of those road trips included taking her granddaughter to the Mall of America. Jenny also enjoyed going to Bingo every Friday night for many years. In her free time, Jenny enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, sewing, cross-stitch, coloring, and reading. She will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Jenny's memory are her beloved husband of 47 years, George "Andy" Hayes; daughter, Amanda Hayes; granddaughter, Madelyn Nguyen and fiance, Gavin Notter; siblings: Mike and wife, Carol DeVille, Paul and wife, Peggy DeVille, Wendy and husband, Dwaine Estes, Annette and husband, Terry Compagnari; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents; son, Christopher Hayes; brother, Douglas Winters; sisters: Joan and husband, Garry Hickie, Sue Urban, and Sally Joseph.
